Following Major Step Toward Tax Reform, AAN Launches One Million Robocall Campaign
Calls target 29 Congressional districts nationwide, increase tax reform momentum
WASHINGTON – Last week, House Republicans passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, setting the stage for comprehensive tax reform for the first time in over 30 years. American Action Network’s Middle-Class Growth Initiative (MCGI) today launched a one million robocall campaign in 29 Congressional districts nationwide. The calls are aimed to build momentum for the recently passed bill while families are home for Thanksgiving, and prompt constituents to call their representative to express their continued support for tax reform. “Last week, Congress took a major step toward delivering much-need tax relief for all Americans, but there is still work to be done,” said AAN Executive Director Corry Bliss. “The Tax Cut and Jobs Act paves the way for middle-class prosperity by lowering rates, increasing jobs, and giving the average middle-class family a $1,200 tax cut. AAN is working to share the winning message of pro-growth tax reform, and will continue spending resources to spread that message until meaningful tax reform is signed into law.”
The American Action Network launched the Middle-Class Growth Initiative in August to promote the passage of meaningful pro-growth tax reform legislation. The multi-pronged campaign, now totaling over $20 million, has included advertising on television, radio, direct mail, and mobile billboards in over 60 congressional districts across the country.
