Emily Davis to Lead Communications for American Action Network & Congressional Leadership Fund

Campaign & Capitol Hill Veteran Communicator Promoted

WASHINGTON – The 501(c)(4) American Action Network (AAN) and their sister super PAC the Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) today announced that veteran communications operative Emily Davis will serve as the new Communications Director of both organizations. For the last two years, Davis served as AAN & CLF’s Deputy Communications Director, managing all state and regional communications efforts. She replaces outgoing Communications Director Dan Conston, who will remain in an outside capacity.

“Emily has been a key part of our success in advancing center-right policies and candidates, and I’m thrilled she’s leading our communications,” said Mike Shields, President of AAN and CLF. “She is a battled-tested communications pro, and we’ll benefit from her tremendously.”

“There’s nowhere I’d rather be than at the intersection of policy and politics where AAN and CLF stake their claims and achieve victories,” said Emily Davis, Communications Director. “I’m honored to be on a great team with a proven record of shaping policies and elections.”

Prior to joining AAN and CLF in 2013, Davis served as Deputy Communications Director for George Allen for U.S. Senate (2012). Previously, Davis was Director of Leadership Communications at the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) in 2011 and Communications Director and a policy aide for U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX) from 2005-2010.

This year, AAN has already run over $5 Million in advertising to advance center-right policy solutions in Congress. Last cycle, AAN and CLF, which is the super PAC dedicated exclusively to preserving and expanding the House Republican Majority, spent a combined $20 million in independent expenditures. The two groups raised a combined $104 million from 2011-2014.
