AAN Unveils School Reopening Ad Campaign In 12 House Districts

American Action Network unveiled a new issue advocacy advertising campaign this morning, urging lawmakers to support the safe reopening of America’s schools. The new effort will cross 12 House districts, including billboards, digital ads and phone calls that showcase how liberals have sold out to the unions, who want to keep schools closed, and encourage key Members of Congress to support H.R. 682, “The Reopen Schools Act,” introduced by Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01).

“Kids are falling behind, yet liberals in Congress seem not to care,” said AAN President Dan Conston. “Even though the science shows it’s safe for children to return to school, teachers unions continue to keep students locked out of their classrooms. Liberals in Congress — awash in teacher union cash — are picking the unions over America’s kids. It’s time for Congress to support safely reopening schools now.”

Despite consensus from the CDC and public health officials that re-opening schools is safe, lawmakers have continued to ignore science and put the teachers unions interests ahead of what’s best for our children. In recent weeks, the House has voted twice to block consideration of the Reopen Schools Act.

Billboards will go up today in the districts of Elaine Luria (VA-02), Susan Wild (PA-07) and Andy Kim (NJ-03) near shuttered schools in their districts, while digital ads and phone calls will also go live in the districts of all 12 Members included in the campaign
