AAN Releases “Important” Ad Campaign against Mark Takai

WASHINGTON – The American Action Network (@AAN) today released the “Important” ad campaign in the Hawai’i 1st congressional district race, highlighting Mark Takai’s long record of raising taxes and making Hawai’i families pay more.

As a member of the Hawai’i House of Representatives, Mark Takai voted to raise taxes on groceries, fuel, income and even pensions. Despite his claims of working to reduce the cost of living, it is clear that Takai has a long history of making Hawai’ians pay more.

The ad will air on Honolulu broadcast and cable TV as part of AAN’s $300,000 in independent expenditures in the HI-01 race.

“Mark Takai believes it’s ‘important’ to raise taxes on nearly everything from groceries to pensions regardless of what it costs Hawai’ians,” said Emily Davis, spokeswoman for American Action Network. “Hawai’i seniors and families can’t afford for Mark Takai to take his tax-raising record to Congress to make them pay even more.”
