WASHINGTON — A conservative advocacy group aligned with House Republican leaders is launching more than $1 million in television, digital and mail advertising across four Florida congressional districts beginning Thursday, highlighting what it calls a stark contrast between Republicans and Democrats on taxes and federal spending.

The American Action Network said the Florida buy is part of a $22 million national issue-advocacy campaign that began last week and will run through Sept. 3 across 41 districts. The group said the ads will air in Florida’s 9th, 14th, 23rd and 27th districts, represented by Democratic U.S. Reps. Darren Soto, Kathy Castor and Jared Moskowitz and Republican U.S. Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar.

The ads tout Republican votes to eliminate taxes on tips and overtime pay and to provide tax relief for Social Security recipients. They accuse Democrats of supporting what the group describes as the largest tax hike in American history and of wasting taxpayer money on “radical priorities,” including gender-affirming care for minors.

One 30-second spot targeting Castor, titled “Money Flying,” accuses the Tampa Democrat of voting for higher taxes “to funnel cash to a bunch of liberal nonsense like taxpayer-funded sex changes for kids and wide-open borders.” It says Castor wanted to tax tips, overtime and Social Security benefits. The ad urges viewers to tell her to “stop wasting our money.”

A companion ad supporting Salazar, titled “Breathe Easier,” says “radicals voted for higher taxes for extreme nonsense like taxpayer-funded sex changes for kids” but that the Miami Republican is “protecting our taxpayer dollars from extremists.” It credits her with helping stop the tax increase and cutting taxes on tips, overtime and Social Security.
