AAN launches ad campaign on Sykes’ support of political violence

WASHINGTON – American Action Network today launched a new issue advocacy campaign in Ohio’s Thirteenth Congressional District, highlighting Rep. Emilia Sykes’ vote against a bipartisan resolution condemning Charlie Kirk’s assassination and calling for all Americans to “reject political violence.”

The campaign also spotlights Sykes’ vote against funding for law enforcement and ICE.

The ads are part of a national $5 million issue advocacy campaign explaining how liberals’ pro-criminal policies and persistent use of violent, radical rhetoric led to a toxic environment that scares Americans.

The Center for Strategic & International Studies found 2025 is “on pace to be the left’s most violent year in more than three decades.”

In addition, a recent Gallup poll found the issues of crime and national unity are “reverberating with Americans,” as mentions of crime or violence climbed to their “highest level since August 2020 — and before that, 2002.”

You can watch the ad here.

“At a time when leftist radical violence is climbing at an alarming rate, Emilia Sykes is siding with violence,” said AAN spokeswoman Lydia Hall. “Congresswoman Sykes needs to take action and show Ohioans she won’t stand for political violence. Sykes must start voting to keep Ohio safe.”

There are 15 districts included in AAN’s new issue advocacy campaign, for a full list see here or read more in Axios.
